Heavy duty Reciprocating Air Compressor is a positive displacement air compressor in which air is sucked in a chamber and compressed with the help of a reciprocating piston. It is called as positive displacement compressor because air is first sucked in a chamber and then compression is achieved by decreasing area of the chamber. The area is decreased by a piston which does reciprocating motion.
In reciprocating air compressor, as the piston moves towards the BDC, the air is sucked into the cylinder from the atmosphere and when it moves towards the TDC, the compression of the air starts and keeps on going and pressure increases. When the pressure increases upto its design limit it pushes the discharge valve to open and the compressed air is delivered to the storage tank.
These types of reciprocating air compressors cater to diverse industrial needs and are designed to provide efficient, reliable, and sustainable compressed air solutions
Reciprocating compressors are commonly used for applications where low flow rate and high pressure of the gas are required, such as in railway and road vehicle air brake systems, oil refineries, gas pipelines, oil and gas production drilling and well services, air and nitrogen injection, offshore platforms, chemical plants, natural gas processing plants, air conditioning, and refrigeration plants

Refrigerated Air Dryers find widespread applications across various industries, including manufacturing, automotive, food, pharmaceuticals, and beverage, and more. They play a crucial role in processes such as painting, pneumatic tool operation, CNC machining, and packaging, where dry and clean compressed air is essential for precision and efficiency
Ans: For a reciprocating air compressor, the oil should generally be changed approximately every 3 months. However, for a more accurate time frame, it is recommended to call in with a model number to find the recommended schedule for the specific compressor
Ans: In a single stage compressor, the compression of air from the initial pressure to the final pressure is carried out in one cylinder only. On the other hand, in a double acting reciprocating compressor, the suction compression and delivery of air take place on both sides of the piston
Ans: Piston (also called reciprocating) compressors and screw compressors are the most commonly used types today, and these come in oil-injected and oil-free models.
Ans: A compressor works by continuously sucking in surrounding air and mechanically squeezing it through internally-moving components and into a usable force for powering air tools. Once the maximum air pressure is reached (PSI), the duty cycle is complete.
Ans: Consider the application, duty cycle, system requirements, maintenance schedule, environment, elevation, installation, temperature ranges, and pressure requirements. These factors will help narrow down your choice. Contact to Innovair Technology for more details
